The original science building on the Cochran campus, Old Dillard Hall, was renovated for new classrooms, nursing and occupational therapy labs, an A&P lab, study space and offices for the School of Health and Natural Sciences. The 1965 two-story concrete building is a great example of mid-century historic architecture, but prior to this renovation was outdated in MEP building systems, energy performance, and functionality. The renovation gutted the building interiors and reconfigured for all new building systems. Energy studies in the design phase informed the selection of interior window panels to improve efficiency while maintaining the historic facade.
